Supportive Services to Homeless and Disabled Veterans

About Us

History

The Uplifting Veterans Center began in 2013 by one friend helping another friend. One was homeless with no place to stay and the other was able to provide a home for his friend in need. Those two friends were Cedric Moore and Cedric Johnson. Cedric Moore was a veteran and served in the Air Force but certain circumstances led to his homelessness. Mr. Johnson noticed the amount of homeless and disabled veterans in the Memphis area that needed assistance. He began to seek solutions to address the need to prevent homelessness among our veterans and the repeat cycle of becoming homeless. Uplifting Veterans Center was legally founded by Cedric Johnson in 2016.

Who are we

Uplifting Veterans Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity that provides housing and supportive services for homeless and disabled veterans and their families. Our volunteers work hard to help UPVETS provide resources and support to veterans who sacrificed and put everything on the line in defense of America’s freedom. We help veterans tackle a variety of issues such as substance abuse, depression, mental health, and job placement. Since opening our doors, our supportive infrastructure and life skills coaching continues to eliminate homelessness and provide housing stability for our nation’s heroes.
